  1. The media finally picked up the story about private contractors after the Sept. 16 shootings but it was always a slow motion train wreck happening in plain sight, right in front of our eyes. My novel The Contractor took years to write, and Blackwater is only part of the story.

  2. Thanks for listing “Homefront” here. Military spouses, soldiers, and literary readers have responded incredibly favorably, and because I wrote it to introduce people to the intimate and surreal quality of waiting for someone you love to survive a war, that it’s here to be introduced to more people is extremely gratifying.
