(compare to the Declaration of Independence)
When, in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for people to dissolve the political and legal bonds which have connected them with others, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the free and equal station to which the laws of nature entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of people everywhere requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to liberty.
We Americans – we peoples of the Americas – from Tierra del Fuego to Point Barrow and every point in between – hold these truths to be self-evident, that all people are created equal, that they are endowed with certain inalienable rights, that among these are life and liberty, as well as just and equitable conditions of life. That whenever any form of government – be it corporate or statist or otherwise – becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute various forms of democracy and free association that function to secure these inalienable rights, and that work to create a flourishing and relative equality of condition, without which these inalienable rights can neither be met nor fulfilled. When a long train of abuses and usurpations designs to oppress people under various forms of despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off corporate and state governments and other oppressors, and to provide new guards for their future security. Such has been the patient sufferance of the people of the Americas, and beyond; and such is now their need to alter the oppressive systems of corporate and state authoritarianism and malicious neglect. The history of the present corporate-state systems of rule is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an intolerable tyranny over the people. To prove this, let facts be submitted to a candid world.
The private and public governments that take the forms of corporations and states and related foundations and other organizations and actors, henceforth known as mendacious (or malicious) entities (ME), have refused to operate in the most wholesome and necessary ways for the public good.
These mendacious entities have forbidden their executives and governors to pass laws of immediate and pressing importance.
These mendacious entities have refused to help and enable as many people as possible to vote and to adequately participate in making the decisions that affect the conditions of life.
These mendacious entities have continuously denied and blocked economic democracy; democracy in the workplace; and popular control of resources and industries and services, such as energy, transportation, health care, education and many more.
These mendacious entities have called together legislative and other deliberative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the public, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with ME measures.
These mendacious entities have broken and undermined the most democracy-based unions and movements, for their strong opposition to the ME invasions on the rights of the people.
These mendacious entities have endeavored to prevent a healthy and natural movement of people by militarizing borders, building walls, and especially be savaging the economies of neighboring countries and thereby creating involuntary waves of survival migration.
These mendacious entities have obstructed the administration of justice, by failing to enforce the better laws of the land, such as the personal protections and social well-being articles and provisions of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and the Convention on the Rights of the Child and other such laws, conventions and treaties.
These mendacious entities have made judges dependent on the ME will alone, for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries.
These mendacious entities have erected a multitude of new offices, and sent hither swarms of officers to harass our people, and eat out their substance.
These mendacious entities have kept among us, in times of would be peace, unconscionably expensive, vast and aggressive militaries without the real consent of the people.
These mendacious entities have waged ceaseless economic and military warfare against vulnerable populations, stripping vast regions, whole countries and many individuals of their resources, freedoms, lives.
These mendacious entities have rendered aggressive military, police and other security forces independent of and superior to civil power; or used them actively in the service of thieving and thugging.
These mendacious entities have combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction alien to our human constitution, and unacknowledged by natural laws; giving their assent to their acts of pretended legislation:
For building, equipping and conquering with vast militaries –
For protecting themselves from punishment for any war crimes and crimes against humanity which they commit at home and abroad –
For stifling, perverting and dictating trade in all parts of the world –
For imposing taxes on us without our consent, especially war taxes, and for blocking and denying basic goods and services of all kinds –
For depriving us in many cases, of the benefits of unprejudiced trial by jury, and for the inhumanity of filling prisons at unprecedented rates –
For transporting us beyond seas to be tortured for pretended offenses –
For the illegal and immoral invasion of Iraq and other countries, establishing therein an arbitrary government, so as to render it at once an example and fit instrument for introducing the same absolute rule in the Americas –
For taking away our legal protections and rights under the most humane international and national laws, abolishing our most valuable laws, and thwarting fundamentally our cultural, social and political freedom –
For contaminating and dominating our legislatures, and declaring themselves invested with power to legislate for us in all cases whatsoever.
These mendacious entities have abdicated government here, by declaring us out of their protection and by waging war against us.
These mendacious entities have plundered our seas, ravaged our environment, neglected and attacked our towns, and destroyed the lives of our people.
These mendacious entities are at this time transporting large armies of contracted mercenaries at home and abroad to complete the works of death, desolation and tyranny, already begun with circumstances of cruelty and perfidy scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous ages, and totally unworthy of civilized nations.
These mendacious entities have coerced, deceived, manipulated and impoverished our people to cause them to bear arms against their neighbors, to become the aggressors or executioners of their friends and brethren and others, or to fall themselves by their hands.
These mendacious entities have excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and have endeavored to foment reactionary impulses and agents among us whose endeavors maintain and lead to the return of barbarities of all types.
In every stage of these oppressions we have petitioned for redress in the most humble terms: our repeated petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. These mendacious entities, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a tyrant, are unfit to be the rulers of a free people.
Nor have we been wanting in attention to the executives and officials of these mendacious entities. We have warned them continually against their attempts to extend an unwarrantable jurisdiction over us. We have reminded them of the circumstances of our lives throughout the Americas, and beyond. We have appealed, we have petitioned, we have organized, we have challenged them by the ties of our common kindred to disavow these usurpations, which, would inevitably interrupt our connections and correspondence. They have been deaf to the voice of justice and of consanguinity. We must, therefore, acquiesce in the necessity, which denounces our separation, and hold them, as we hold the rest of humankind, enemies in war, in peace friends.
We, therefore, the peoples of the Americas, in accord with nature, for human dignity, acting on the principles of our human rights, do solemnly publish and declare, that we ought to be free and independent peoples; that we are absolved from all allegiance and debt, ownership and peonage or rental, to the Mendacious Entities, and that all political or legal connection between them and the peoples, is and ought to be totally dissolved; and that as free and independent peoples, we have full power to levy war, conclude peace, contract alliances, establish commerce, and to do all other acts and things which independent peoples may of right do. And for the support of this declaration, with a firm reliance ourselves, our principles, and our rights, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our vital humanity.
