Are you a soldier opposed to the US invasion and occupation of Iraq, etc?
If so, if you had the opportunity to talk to the US President one on one, what would you say? And would you want it used in an antiwar novel that opens like this?: Deadline, Iraq
Of course one of the current Democratic or Republican candidates may likely be the next President – who is in any case fictitious in the novel (and otherwise?) – so obviously remarks need to be personally general, if otherwise specific. Nothing like details. And turns of phrase. And illuminating points.
