Whether or not people work to change their country is up to the people, no one else. As for the US government being the protector of the people -- this doesn't hold up either. The US government's aggressive war and economic policy create militant reaction against the US and its people. This has been well documented. As for the notion that the country is on a path that will work out, that's total wild speculation and utterly misses the point of how many others are being crushed along that path. In many ways the country is on a disastrous path for itself and is responsible for the deaths of many globally -- about a million in Iraq just in the past few years alone, according to best estimates, extrapolating from the Lancet Study. Just ask German Jews, what's left of them, and millions of other victims in Germany and abroad exactly how well Hitler's decision to "stay the course" worked out for them.

There cannot be democracy in the planet of thousand billionaires with $3.5 Trillion in assets. Neither can be law and order. Wars of last 15 years are openly wars for loot and control. The Godfather, previously known as President of the United States, will not relinquish control over his capos, a.k.a. Pentagon. American people would not rise against their protector; for without protection their fate will be sealed. It will be sealed anyway but while military is still intact, we have resemblance of security.
So, vicious circle will continue: the more people killed in our name for the sake of ‘our’ international billionaires, the more reasons we have to fear for our life. And fear is the worst consul. So, we repeat the same routine over and over again; we ‘stay the course’. In the long run it will make some good for our posterity. After all, Hitler decided “to stay the course” in Stalingrad; in the long run, it made a lot of good to German people even though many of them were of mixed origin 65 years later.
